Ruddy’s captain stands out in NL football

Kurtland Williams, midfielder and captain of newly crowned champions of the 2015 Ruddy’s Electrical North Leeward Football League, Sharpes United, grasped most of the individual awards distributed at last Sunday’s closing ceremony at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Williams was voted the Player of the Final, after another outstanding display against Outstanding Gauge of Barrouallie in the championship match, which also took place on Sunday.

The diminutive and energetic Williams also scooped the Best Mid-Fielder award and the overall Most Valuable Player of the competition.

Williams’ team-mate Philron Lavia was named as the Best Defender, with John Williams of Predators FC – the Best Goalkeeper.

The other individual awards presented on the evening were snapped up by Kelroy Layne of Coulls Hill Rangers.

Layne was a double awardee, as he took away the Best Striker title and the most goals accolade for his seven items.(RT)
