Vincentian takes invitational table tennis title in Grenada

Vincentian Damion Dublin is the winner of the Excel Plaza sponsored Grenada invitational Super Four individual men’s singles open title.

This was contested last month at the PWU centre in Grenada.

Dublin, the current national men’s singles champion of St Vincent and the Grenadines, was however, taken to five sets by junior player Kevon Charles to win three sets to two in the final.

It was the good ending for Dublin, who also in 2015 was crowned the national men’s doubles champion, alongside his fellow Sion Hillarian and veteran player/coach Joseph Carrington.

But as the year ended in triumph for the St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association, the new year sees that national organization embarking on its development programme.

The programme, already being rolled out, targets the areas of Bequia, Georgetown, Barrouallie, Mesopotamia and Campden Park.

The Bequia project especially will be overseen by International Table Tennis Federation’s expert Georg Silberschmidt.(RT)
