SVGCA executive to have midterm assessment this Saturday

Members and affiliates of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc will have an opportunity to assess the tenure of the Kishore Shallow led executive this Saturday, January 9 from 10 a.m. at the President Suite of the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.

This, when the association convenes its midterm general meeting.

The meeting will examine the audited financial statement of the association, which covers the period October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015.

In addition, there will be the report from the executive, as well as the minutes of the last general meeting.

The general meeting should also entertain two resolutions to be brought to the general membership.

Reports are that the executive will table a resolution to have the Premier Division of the national cricket programme restructured and the other related to the finances of the SVGCA. There are also plans for the executive and its affiliates to interface on the rebranding of the SVGCA’s website.

The man at the helm of the SVGCA, Kishore Shallow, has described the period 2014 to 2015, as “ a successful year for SVG cricket.”

Shallow reported that despite the reality of limited resources, there was “evidence of major success stories, achievements and efficient management, while there remain opportunities for improvement.”

He added that the SVGCA Inc is “committed to continued development in the best interest of SVG cricket, and that his organization will be guided by the current strategic plan to e-position cricket as the sport of choice in the country.”

Shallow and his executive were first installed in May 2014, on an interim basis, following a successful no confidence motion against then president Julian Jack.

They were given the allclear to continue in December of that same year for a two-year term by affiliates.

The full executive reads: Kishore Shallow – president; Elson Crick – first vice-president; Denis Byam – second vice-president; Jenry Ollivierre – treasurer; Samuel Holder – secretary and Cleton Burnett – assistant secretary.

Four committee members, Romel Currency, Miles Bascombe, Deighton Butler and Samantha Lynch, complete the slate.(RT)
