Softball cricketers get rewards from Greiggs competition
Those players who rose to the top creamed off the individual accolades when the 2015 Courtesy Sports/ St Vincent Brewery/Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Softball Cricket Competition ended last week at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.
Taking the honours for most runs was Country Meets Town Outa Troubleâs Saski Weekes (157 runs), with Shamic Roberts of Sion Hill Tallawahs â the best all-rounder.{{more}}
Roberts scored 146 runs and claimed 12 runs.
Meanwhile, Denson Hoyte, of dethroned champions and second placed Owia Young Strikers, was named the Man of the Tournament for his 143 runs and 13 wickets. Hoyte was also the leading wicket taker.
Also rewarded was Edwin Payne of new winners Top Shottaz Squady â the player of the final and Ceon Phillips of Nar Fren Dem â the best wicketkeeper.
RSVG Police copped the awards for the Most Disciplined and Best Dressed Team.
In the Under-16 Division, Zivon Walker was the top wicket taker, with 10 scalps, and the recipient for the most runs was Zidane Sam. He tallied 108 runs.
Prodigy St James Strikers took the first and OJ Computer Services All Starz were second in the age group competition.
At the onset of the new year, organizers plan to host the womenâs competition in January.
