Shne Joachim swam herself into the Barbados record books by smashing five meet records and finishing the competition with a total of five gold and two silver medals.

Swimming five personal best times, Shane Cadogan came home with three silver and four bronze medals and Shne’s younger brother Alex Joachim also got himself on the podium, collecting one bronze medal followed by six outstanding personal best times. Cruz Halbich managed three fourth places at the meet, swimming in the tough 13 to 14 year age group with Cadogan.

The swimmers are only one week away from the 2015 OECS swimming championships, to be held in Antigua and Barbuda. Black Sands Swim Squad and national coach Kyle Dougan predict more medals and records will be claimed by the Vincentian swimmers at these championships.
