SVGCC football competitions on point
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College has completed two of the components of its inter-faculty football tournament on schedule.
This was the case last Friday afternoon at the Sion Hill Playing Field, when Year Two Arts, General Studies and Sciences won the French Verandah sponsored tournament, beating Year One Business 3-1.{{more}}
The championâs goals came from Lesbert Jeffrey, Lopez Mc Fee and Ralique Bradshaw, with Nyron Delplesche getting a consolation penalty for Year One Business.
And, Year Two Tech Asteroids emerged winners of the Technical Division, when they won 4 – 3 in kicks from the penalty spot last Wednesday at the same venue.
At the end of full time, the game stood in the balance, one goal a piece, after Casnell Duncan put Year Two Tech Asteroids ahead in the 10th minute, while Kacy Penniston pulled things back level in the 40th minute for Year One Tech Stars.
The Inter-faculty National Lotteries Authority French Verandah Football Competition was the precursor to the inter-divisional competition, where year one and year two teams from the Division of Arts, General Studies, the Division of Technical and Vocational Studies, the Division of Teacher Education and the School of Nursing combined and the Police Youth Club will compete for honours.
This commences today, October 20 and will be followed by the SVGCC Inter-Divisional Netball Competition from November 20.
Basketball, Volleyball, Road Relay and Track and Field inter-divisional competitions will be staged in the second semester.(RT)
