On Saturday, rain affected the Carriere Blazers versus Shot Callers encounter.

Carriers Blazers had batted first and made 126 for 4 off 11 overs when rain stopped play. Frankie Farrell stroked 62 not out and Orando Browne, 27.

Bowling for Shot Callers, Rajvie Questelles took 2 for 26. Both teams had to share the points.

The case was even worse on Sunday, as Smart Strikers and Georgie Valley Saints had their match abandoned without a ball being bowled, because of rain.

However, later in the day, skies cleared to allow Dr Thomas Injectors and CGM Gallagher Novice to get their campaign going.

In Dr Thomas Injectors’ four-wicket win over Toppers, the latter batted first and reached 84 for 7 from their 15 overs, as the match was reduced.

Quesnel Cottoy took 2 for 2, bowling for Injectors, who struggled to 85 for 6, also off 15 overs. Desron Lavia led the way with 21, as Javorn Jack scalped 2 for 7 for Toppers.

And, Novice humbled Godson Cain Highlanders by 132 runs. Roderick John plundered 91, which included 10 sixes and five fours, to pilot Novice to 205 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.

Bowling for Highlanders, Donaldson Harry took 2 for 23 and Danroy Fergus 2 for 32. In reply, Highlanders packed it in at 73 all out in 13.4 overs, as Zane Edwards pouched 3 for 16 and Vernardo Primus 2 for 21, bowling for Novice.(RT)
