RSVG Police stay untouched in North Leeward cricket

The defending champions of the Vinlec North Leeward Twenty/20 Cricket Competition are keeping their winning train on track.

The latest triumph of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) came last Saturday, when they deforested Coulls Hill Rangers by 102 at the competition’s venue – the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Batting first, the law enforcers scored 212 for 6 off 20 overs. In command was Kenneth Dember with 52, Donson Andrews hit 40 and Kenroy Williams, 37.

Devon Mars took 2 for 40, bowling for Coulls Hill Rangers, who were in turn dismissed for 110 off 18 overs.

Devon Mars – 22 and Angus Cyrus – 20 were the main contributors with the bat, as Parnell Browne recorded Police’s best bowling figures, 3 for 18.

Also on Saturday, Somerset defeated Petit Bordel Secondary School by eight wickets, in a fixture affected by rain.

Petit Bordel Secondary School got up to 91 for 6 off 10 overs, as the match was reduced to a 10-over affair.

In reply, Somerset rushed to 94 for 2 off 8 overs. Kevin Small was 39 not out.

On Sunday, Carlos James Rose Bank won by default over Ajuba, who failed to show up for their match.

But Ruddy’s Electrical had to expend their energies to oust Somerset by 18 runs.

Ruddy’s Electrical reached 138 for 3 off 10 overs, in another match reduced because of the inclement weather.

Chrisroy John with 73 and Dion John, 31, were Ruddy’s Electrical’s main run scorers.

Bowling for Somerset, Kevin Small took 2 for 29, and his 74 was his team’s mainstay, but was not enough, as they reached 120 for 4 from their 10 overs.

The competition continues this weekend with four another matches.

On Saturday, from 10 a.m., Coulls Hill Rangers play Petit Bordel Secondary School and from 2 p.m., Carlos James Troumaca Starlight engage Ruddy’s Electrical.

RSVG Police tackle Sharps United from 10 a.m. on Sunday, with Carlos James Peto Stars meeting North Stars from 2 p.m.(RT)
