Teams better positions in Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition

Street Fighters, Godson Cain Highlanders, Combine Sixerz, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem and Top Shottas Squady all recorded triumphs in the latest set of matches contested in the Hairoun Brewery, Sea Operations SVG Ltd, Courtesy Sports, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs T/20 Softball Cricket Competition at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.{{more}}

Street Fighters defeated Smashers by five wickets.

Smashers batted first and scored 86 for 6 from their 17 overs, to which Street Fighters responded with 87 for 5 in 14. 2 overs.

Ricardo Thomas top scored with 35 not out. Isroy Williams took 2 for 2, but was at the losing end of the contest.

Also, Godson Cain Highlanders outdid Better Brand Distributors Enterprises Supreme Stars by two wickets.

Supreme Stars tallied 118 for 3 from their 20 overs. Andy Dickson struck 35.

Highlanders, though, rushed to 119 for 8 in 13.3 overs. Jvar Cain stroked 42 for Highlanders, while Yonel Johnson picked up 4 for 17, bowling for Supreme Stars.

Likewise, Combine Sixerz overcame Sion Hill Tallawahs by 46 runs.

Combine Sixerz reached 96 for 9 from their maximum 17 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start.

Rodney Lawrence led with 27. Bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs, Shorn Williams picked up 3 for 9 and Kentlan Lavia, 2 for 20.

Tallawahs, though, succumbed to the bowling of Davian Barnum, 5 for 19 and Desroy Straugh, 3 for 14, as they crumbled for 51 in 11.4 overs.

Playing at home, Nar Fren Dem took on Attackers and turned out victors by eight wickets.

Rokeem Lavia snared 4 for 5, as Attackers were sent packing for 76. Nar Fren Dem then cantered to 79 for 2 in 9.3 overs. Damron Prince led Nar Fren Dem’s response with 31.

And, Top Shottaz Squady overcame Bank of SVG All Starz by six wickets.

All Starz batted first and made 85 for 9 in their 20 overs; Glenroy Dasent scored 21.

Stein Joseph was Top Shottaz Squady’s best bowler, taking 3 for 7.

Jabarri Cunningham blasted 60 not out, to see Top Shottaz Squady to 88 for in just 7.2 overs.

In between Cunningham’s onslaught, Kelly Murray, 2 for 11 and Kelique Samuel, 2 for 15, shone for All Stars with the ball.
