Starlight switched on Saturday, beating Sharpes United by eight wickets and on Sunday overpowered Coulls Hill Rangers by 160 runs.

Facing Sharpes, Starlight posted an imposing 250 for 4 off 20 overs. Ronique Samuel – 82, Leshawn Lewis – 62 and Tilron Harry – 38 not out, were the principal scorers.

Devon Mars, with 2 for 26, was Coulls Hill Rangers’ lead bowler, but his team plummeted to 90 all out, off 13.3 overs.

Bowling for Starlight, Zemron Providence bagged 5 for 16.

Starlight’s batting was again glitzy on Sunday, as the combination of Donald Delpesche – 78 not out and Ronique Samuel – 66 saw their team to 202 in 15.5 overs.

This was in response to Sharpes United‘s 197 for 5 off 20 overs, Christopher Howe’s 76 and Augustus James’s 49 formed the platform for the innings.

Also on the weekend, Robertson’s Surveying Future Legends and Carlos James Peto Stars had victories. On Saturday, Robertson’s Surveying Future Legends saw off Carlos James Peto Stars by a mere four runs.

Batting first, Future Legends notched up 195 for 6 off 20 overs. Responsible for that total were Elmore Robertson, 64 not out, and Benniton Stapleton, 46.

The most successful bowlers for Peto Stars were Ronique LaBorde, 2 for 24 and Rangel Small, 2 for 32.

Peto Stars, in their run chase, ended short, falling at 192 all out, off 19 overs, despite Ronique La Borde’s 72.

Ewaldo Stapleton, Shangi John and Veonson Stapleton took two wickets apiece, bowling for Future Legends.

Peto Stars, however, returned on Sunday to defeat Ajuba by 13 runs.

Peto Stars scored 167 for 4 off 16 overs, as the match was reduced because of the slow over rate. Rangel Small top scored with 73.

Jemel Jeffery 2 for 13 and Kamali Williams, 2 for 23, took the wickets that fell.

In response, Ajuba reached 154 for 4 off 16 overs. Kenny Stapleton struck 80.

Rangel Small had bowling figures of 2 for 24.

Only two matches will be played this Sunday, August 30, when North Stars and Carlos James Rose Bank meet from 10 a.m., to be followed by RSVG Police and Ruddy’s Electrical from 2 p.m. (RT)
