The Vincentians ended on 25 points, behind Grenada’s 39 and Dominica’s 33. St Lucia, who forfeited some of their engagements, tallied 15 points overall.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ compilation of points was as a result of two first places in netball and female volleyball, second in football, with a third place in male volleyball and last places in male and female basketball and track and field.

The netballers recorded a 46-27 triumph over St Lucia, then drew with Grenada 30-30, before clawing past Dominica 39-35, en route to the title.

Emerging as a force in volleyball in the sub-region, the young females blew away St Lucia and Dominica 3-0 and had a 3-1 dismissal of Grenada.

On the other hand, St Vincent and the Grenadines failed to retain the football title after having to settle to one-all draws with Grenada and Dominica, but edged out St Lucia 3-2.

The male volleyballers did not live up to expectations as they bossed St Lucia 3-0, but then lost out to Grenada 2-3 and Dominica 0-3.

As expected, St Vincent and the Grenadines ended at the back of the pack in both genders, with the females suffering some humiliating defeats.

The lasses were trampled 91-4 by Grenada; forfeited their encounter against Dominica, with them trailing 31-8 and being blown away by St Lucia, 91-12. The males fared better, having been beaten by Dominica 77-58; Grenada 69-41 and St Lucia 76-60.

And the results in track and field were as they have been in recent times, as St Vincent and the Grenadines put together 102 points, finishing behind Grenada – 182, Dominica – 136 and St Lucia – 105.

A lone gold medal attained by Nimroy Laborde in the male high jump added to the eight silver and six bronze medals which were St Vincent and the Grenadines’ scoop of medals.

Taking the MVP awards for the Vincentian contingent were Nerissa Delpesche – netball; Brandon Smart – male basketball, Tamara Woodley – female basketball and Lesbert Jeffrey – football.

The list is completed by Enriko Nedd – male basketball and Shernell Browne – female volleyball.

For being at the helm, coaches Natasha Stapleton and Vance Andrews were rewarded for championing netball and female volleyball respectively.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was represented by 61 student athletes and nine officials.

Grenada is set to host the 2016 edition.
