Pierre, a left-handed batsman, who was a reserve in last yearâs team and Lewis, a right-handed off spinner, are making their debut. Apart from his selection to the Windwards outfit, Lewis was named the Most Valuable Player of the St Vincent and the Grenadines team.
Meanwhile, Pope, a left- handed opening batsman who also wicketkeeps and bowls off spin, is in his fourth and final year at this level and Mc Coy is returning after making his debut last year.
Pope is expected to carry the brunt of the Windwardsâ batting, but did not feature in the just concluded Windward Islands tournament in Dominica, as he is with the St Lucia Zouks in the Caribbean Premier League.
The rest of the Windwards outfit is made up of Kershaski Jno Lewis (captain), Josiah Hilton, Kyle Cabey and Joshua Challenger of Dominica; Dornan Edwards (vice- captain) and Johnel Eugene of St Lucia; and Ryan John, Emmanuel Stewart and Anil Matthew of Grenada.
Vincentian Irvine Warrican is the teamâs manager and St Lucian Walter Emmanuel is the coach.
The regional Under-19 tournament consists of a three-day format and a one-day competition.
The six regional teams â Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago and Windward Islands, in addition to the ICC Americas, will play in a round-robin competition with the top two teams contesting the final, to determine the winner.
Guyana won both competitions in 2014.
From this tournament, the West Indies Under-19 squad for the ICC Youth World Cup next year in Bangladesh will be chosen.(RT)
