Peto Triumph again in North Leeward Cricket

Carlos James Peto Triumph added a win last Sunday in the Vinlec North Leeward Sports Association Twenty/20 Cricket competition, at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Peto Triumph had the better of Troumaca Starlight by 19 runs, to head the table on 11 points.

Peto Triumph scored 174 for 5 off 20 overs, with Ronique Laborde 46 not out, Maxwell Edwards 44 and Shamon Hooper 43. Dorson Cottle took 2 for 39.

Troumaca Starlight in reply scored 155 all out off 19 overs; Keshaun Lewis made 29.

Vidal Edwards took 3 for 24 and Allison Samuel 2 for 36, to help see Peto Triumph over the line and record their third win in five matches.

Peto Triumph had one match ending in a tie and the other abandoned because of rain.

Before that encounter, Troumaca Starlight had overcome Ajuba by three wickets.

Ajuba totalled 152 for 8 off 18 overs; Casmond Walters scored 50 and Roneil Jeffery 30.

Nicklon Alexander 2 for 21 and Javon Samuel 2 for 26, were Starlight’s most successful bowlers.

In reply, Troumaca Starlight reached 154 for 7 off 17.3 overs, led by Donald Delpesche’s 57.

Shaquille Browne collected 3 for 39 and Kimani Williams 2 for 32, bowling for Ajuba.

But on Saturday, Ajuba had defeated Simple Sounds Family of Fitz-Hughes by 106 runs.

Ajuba tallied 170 for 4 off 13 overs, as the match was reduced because of wet conditions.

Casmond Walters was the lead batsman with 55; Harley Skerritt stroked 42 and Kenny Stapleton 32.

Teil Lavia had 2 for 34, bowling for Simple Sounds Family, who responded with 64 all out off 11 overs. Devon Patterson top scored with 23.

Kesrick Williams took 2 for 23, bowling for Ajuba, who sit on 10 points from five matches.

Another three matches are slated for this weekend. On Saturday from 1:30 p.m. Ajuba play Somerset.

Sunday’s matches pit Simple Sounds Family against Somerset from 10 a.m., then defending champions Ruddy’s Electrical meet Carlos James Peto Triumph. (RT)
