Cupid and Walker hit centuries in inaugural Richland Park Tape Ball Competition

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards middle order batsman Gosnel Cupid and Guardian General Saints opening batsman Rickford Walker both hit centuries last Sunday in the inaugural Prime Consulting/Casper Davis Richland Park T/20 Tape Ball cricket competition.{{more}}

Cupid struck 127 and Walker 116, which powered Limehill Knight Riders to 286 for 6 off 20 overs.

Dougal James turned back the hands of time as he took 5 for 36.

In reply, Riverside Warriors were dismissed for 157; Kevin Samuel hit 46 with Kamron Lucas and Kendol Henderson both scoring 26.

Norlan Williams was the pick of the Knight Riders bowling, taking 4 for 22 and Andre Hunte, 2 for 28.

Dougal James was named Man of the Match.

Also on Sunday, Shanty Town Ballblazers took on Cotton Ground Smashers.

Batting first, Cotton Ground made 130 all out from 13.2 overs.

Nickie Antoine led from the front with 38 and Vibert King scored 26, as Desron Maloney and Calty Phillips, both grabbed two wickets apiece.

Shanty Town reached the total in 12.2 overs. Desron Maloney made 37 not out and mates Miles Bascombe and Vincent Cupid scored 27 and 24 respectively.

Desron Maloney scooped the Man of the Match award.

But it was on Saturday that the competition bowled off and featured Kellipar Hillsiders and Oval Wonderers.

Having been inserted, Oval Wonderers tallied 110 for 7 from their allotted 20 overs.

Las Haywood registered 39 not out and Mc leon Williams contributed 26.

Bowling for Hillsiders, Kenroy Peters snared 3 for 11.

Hillsiders then only used up 10 overs to rush to 111 for 3; Sunil Ambris was 38 not out, Jeron John, 29 and Orlanzo Jackson 20 not out.

Man of the Match was awarded to Las Haywood.

Another three matches will be played this weekend at the same venue. (RT)
