Vincentian field athletes benefitting from Grenadian throws coach

Local field athletes have, for two weeks, the expertise of a throws coach – Grenadian Paul Raphael Phillip.{{more}}

An initiative of Team Athletics SVG, the programme, which began here earlier this week, will see Phillip visiting schools on the mainland and on Union Island.

Additionally, Phillip will lend his training acumen to athletes at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

His schedule includes visits to the Leeward and Windward sides of the island and to Union Island.

Targetting mainly schools, Phillip has already touched down at the Central Leeward Secondary and the Thomas Saunders Secondary.

Next week, Phillip is slated to visit the Sandy Bay Secondary, the Girls’ High School, the Georgetown Secondary, the Intermediate High, the St Vincent Grammar School, the St Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua and the Bethel High School.

Phillip ends his tour of duties February 22, following a throws meet, set for that same morning at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field.

Philip’s visit dovetails with a training stint by games secretary of Team Athletics SVG Rawlson Morgan.

While in Grenada last December, Morgan was involved in a throws workshop. (RT)
