TASVG holds annual awards ceremony February 15

Team Athletics SVG will host its 2013 awards and recognition ceremony on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Frenches House, beginning at 2 p.m.{{more}}

The ceremony has been brought forward by one hour from the normal 3 p.m. start to accommodate the National Sports Awards, which take place later that same day, at Spring Garden Estate.

Among the awards up for grabs are Athlete of the Year, Senior Male Athlete of the Year, Senior Female Athlete of the Year, Junior Male Athlete of the Year, and Junior Female of the Year.

Also to be awarded are the Most Promising Athlete of the Year 2013 , who will receive the Calvert Woods Award, with the Talent ID Athlete of the Year getting the Stuart ‘Rudy’ Louie Award.

To be announced at the ceremony also are the Club of the Year; the Technical Official of the Year, the Volunteer of the Year and the Coach of the Year.

Rewards of individual and team prizes won in the National Club Championships, the National Juvenile Championships, the Kids In Athletics finals, the National Relay Classic and the National Team Championships will be presented.

Ephraim Serrette, the President of the National Association of Athletics Administrations of Trinidad and Tobago (NAAATT) will be the featured speaker.

The theme for this ceremony will be “Rekindling hope in sport.”(RT)
