WICB President Dave Cameron to speak at SVGCA awards ceremony

The annual St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association’s awards and presentation ceremony will have the president of the West Indies Cricket Board Whycliffe “Dave” Cameron as the keynote speaker.{{more}}

Cameron, who was elected to the post in May of this year, will address the topic : “West Indies Cricket – Opportunity for Vincentians,” at a ceremony which is slated for the conference room at the Murray Heights Hotel, beginning at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Apart from the keynote speaker, president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Julian Jack will address the gathering.

The night, however, will spotlight the top performers in the various competitions put on by the SVGCA in 2013, and reward them accordingly. The much anticipated top five cricketers of the year, as well as the youth cricketer of the year and the senior cricketer of the year will be announced.

The SVGCA will tonight honour Clarence “Paddy” Thomas and Cornelius “Boop” Davis.

Thomas has served on the executive of the SVGCA and had been involved in youth coaching and management of local and national teams for many years.

Meanwhile, Davis was an outstanding national cricketer during the 1960’s.
