SVG National Rugby Union team held its annual Independence friendly game against the visiting HMS Lancaster at the Sion Hill playing field on October 27.{{more}}

Team SVG overcame the visitors to seal a 24 to 7 win.

The SVG National Rugby Union has to single out Phillip Alvis, not only for scoring a vital try, but also because he did it on his birthday. Other notable players were George Kruger, Guy Hadley and team captain Ricardo “Yellow” Dallaway.
