Gomea Bombers, Novice win in TBPO Softball Cricket Competition

Last year’s runner-up Gomea Bombers and champion team CGM Novice were in the ascendancy when matches in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation T-20 Softball Cricket Competition were played last Saturday.{{more}}

Playing at the competition’s venue, the Dauphine Playing Field, Gomea Bombers won over Older Boys by eight wickets.

Older Boys batted first and made 66 for 6 in 12 overs; Rohan King topscored with 14.

Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Alvin Quashie took 2 for 7 and Edwin Joe 2 for 19.

In reply, Gomea Bombers reached 71 for 2 in 7.2 overs. Ovando O’Brien led the response with 27.

And, in game two, Novice recorded a 69-run win over ASCO.

Novice posted 151 all out in 18.3 overs, batting first.

Renrick Williams with 42 and Desron Spring 20, were the principal scorers.

Otneil Lewis, with 3 for 29, was the pick of ASCO’s bowlers.

ASCO, though, could only respond with 82 all out in 5.5 overs; Ricardo Williams – 25 and Akeyso Davis – 20 were the main contributors for ASCO.

Peter Richards grabbed 3 for 4, bowling for Novice.(RT)
