Swimming Federation looking for swimming talent

The St Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (NOC), in conjunction with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Federation (SVGSF) are conducting a Grassroots Talent Identification Program (GTIP), funded by Olympic Solidarity for the sport of swimming.{{more}}

This programme is specifically geared to attracting swimmers who have the natural talent and swimming ability to progress to the Youth Olympics to be held in Nanjing, China in August 2014.

The NOC/SVGSF is looking for talented swimmers who were born between 1996 and 2000. Those selected for the programme will be provided with professional coaching and will have the opportunity to develop their swimming talents with a goal toward making the final team to compete at the Youth Olympics.

The initial phase of the programme will be to identify the top twenty swimmers who were born between 1996 and 2000. This initial group will participate in an intensive 6-week training programme. Subsequently, the best ten swimmers will be chosen for the next phase of the programme.

In order to participate, the swimmers must be able and willing to dedicate at least two and a half hours a day to the programme, for not less than five days a week. Parental approval will be required for participation. Individuals may apply by submitting the following information: their name, date of birth (born between 1996 and 2000); place of residence; contact phone number and email address. Applicants should also state their swimming experience.
