Spring Village takes Biabou KO football title

Garden Care Plus Spring Village manicured the knockout title of the Biabou Football League last Sunday afternoon at the Biabou Playing Field, as they easily trimmed the shrubs which sprouted from their opponents – Biabou United.{{more}}

Spring Village was verdant from the time the first whistle blew. It was not too long before they got on the score sheet when Jamarl Blake netted in the first half.

Biabou United, with the likes of notable players Ezron Holder, Olanzo Bute and Azhino Solomon in their ranks, were unable to match the robust attacking play of Spring Village.

However, Biabou was able to stave off the attack from Spring Village and at the same time minimized the score line to 1–nil at the break.

The second period went from bad to worse for Biabou United, who lost defender Rohan Grant, as he was ejected for a second bookable offence.

Spring Village then began shaving off the little resistance put up by Biabou.

Goal number two came via a low shot from Colin Joseph, who mowed the surface with a right-footed shot, resulting from a free kick, which bamboozled the Biabou United’s defence, after Ivan Clarke had faked a shot.

Kevin Quashie added the third goal as he headed from a cross and Blake completed his brace, when he used his head to score the fourth goal on what was then a deflated Biabou United outfit.

Spring Village, debutants in the competition, thus inked their name on the knockout title.(RT)
