“The competition promises to be bigger and bolder than ever, as Guinness searches for the greatest players, those made of more, from across the Caribbean,” a release from the St Vincent Brewery Ltd said.

“With more teams from more countries participating, the competition is set to be tougher and the standard of skills on show even higher. What’s more, 2013 includes the exciting introduction of an individual Street Soccer Skills Challenge, as Guinness invites you to upload videos of your best skills to the Guinness Caribbean Facebook page.”

Gareth Geddes, brand manager for Guinness Caribbean & Central America commented: “We are thrilled to be continuing the Guinness Street Football Challenge and delighted to be bringing the Finals to the home of the reigning champions, St Vincent. Guinness believes it’s better to be a player than a spectator and this is why we have added the individual Guinness Street Skills Challenge alongside the community team Guinness Street Soccer Challenge. To compete and to win, you’ll have to be made of more.”

Last year saw St Vincent crowned champions, against the odds beating favourites and hosts Guyana in front of a huge, partisan crowd in Georgetown, Guyana. 2013 will see St Vincent defend their title on home soil and like Guyana before, St Vincent will bring their unique hospitality and flavour to the tournament. What’s more, renowned Dance Hall artist Aidonia will be performing at the finals, amongst other artistes.
