Sam dominated the event, dropping only 2 tiebreakers. On his way to the title, Sam defeated Charles Findlay — 7-0, 7-1, Imani King — 3-7, 7-4, 8-6; and Kevin Mathurin — 7-2, 7-3.

Sam was also in the lead — 9-7 — against Grant Connell when rain interrupted play.

After the completion of the 36 matches, Sam led the opponents with 38 points, with Imani King in second place with 27.

The top four positions received prizes from Quencha, along with hats designed by Scott Chambers of First Image Designs.

Director of GTC Grant Connell said the Quencha tournament would be an annual event.

This brings to eight the total tournaments hosted by the GTC.
