James and Primus were recognized at the Opening Ceremony of the 14th Annual Basketball Competition at the Clive Tannis Hard Court.

James has been the doorkeeper of the facility for the past six years, and was referred to by President of the BBA Sabrina Mitchell as a very trustworthy and reliable person.

Primus’ input over the many years has been in the field of officiating.

In presenting Primus with his appreciation plaque, Mitchell said he reflects reliability, as one can always count on him to journey from the mainland to lend his services to the Bequia Basketball Association matches in its annual tournament.

The 2012 Bequia Basketball Tournament, which began in earnest last Sunday, runs until September 1 or 2, depending on the outcome of the best of three finals in both the second and first divisions.

The first tournament was held in 1999, and has been played every year since. (RT)
