Five athletes head to CAC Juniors

St Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented by five athletes at the staging of the XIX Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Junior Track and Field Meet in El Salvador this weekend.{{more}}

Making the trip are Kemroy Cupid, Kasique Oliver, Brandon Valentine-Parris, Roberto Boyd and Nicky Ann Stephens.

Cupid is the lone athlete competing in the Under-20 age group, and he will contest the 100 m and 200 m.

The other four athletes will participate in the Under-18 age group.

Oliver will run in the 800 m and 1500 m, with Valentine Parris contesting the 400 m and 800 m.

Boyd, who is on his maiden representation for St Vincent and the Grenadines, is carded for the 100 m amd 200 m, while the lone female, Stephens, will do the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Rawlson Morgan is the team’s Manager and Coach.

Earlier this year, the local governing body for Track and Field here, Team Athletics SVG, took the decison not to send a team to the Junior Carifta Games in Bermuda, in preference to the CAC Junior Meet.(RT)
