Out-Ah-Trouble takes Clinchers T/20 Softball title

Out-Ah-Trouble got the better of Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz by seven wickets, last Sunday at the Richland Park Playing Field, to pouch the 2012 Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Co-Operative Credit Union Clinchers Sports Club 20/20 Competition.{{more}}

Batting first, the more established unit of Simple Boyz could only get to 93 for 7, off 20 overs. Casmond Walters struck 35. Javed Harry, with 3 for 22, was Out-Ah-Trouble’s most successful bowler.

Out-Ah-Trouble paced their response and reached 94 for 3 in 16. 4 overs, led by Lenroy Denzel’s 68 not out, which earned him the Man of the Match.

Prior to the finals, Sting Power Nice Radio Clinchers beat Langley Park Ballers by 14 runs, to grasp the third position.

Clinchers posted 107 for 8 from their 20 overs. Donwell Hector was the top scorer with 38, as Randel Munroe captured 3 for 6 for Langley Park.

Langley Park, in their run chase, stopped at 94, all out in 16.2 overs. Dill Clarke, in a losing cause, struck 41. Javar Nero and Ricky King grabbed four wickets apiece, to lead their team to victory.

Apart from gaining the third spot, Clinchers received the award for scoring the highest total, 240 for 4 in 20 overs.

Donwell Hector (113) and Desron Maloney (106) of Clinchers and Simple Boyz respectively, were rewarded for scoring a century each in the 2012 competition.

Maloney also received two other awards, for scoring the most runs and hitting the most sixes. He accumulated 302 runs and lashed 34 sixes.

Clinchers’ Okieph Andrews took the most wickets, 19.

The lone hat-trick in the competition was achieved by Esmond Yearwood of Everything Concrete La Croix United.

Javil Harry of Fully loaded Ballers took the award of most promising young player. Fully Loaded copped the award of Most Improved Team.

Young Strikers was adjudged the Most Disciplined Team, with the Best Manager award going to Percy Morris of Simple Boyz.

Stein Joseph of Clinchers captured the Most Valuable Player of the competition award. Joseph scored 271 runs from eight innings. He blasted 33 sixes, 14 fours and grabbed 15 wickets. (RT)
