Four more advance in NLA TBPO Softball Competition

Four teams, Nice Radio Clinchers, Novice, Bank of SVG and ASCO, have all made it to the next phase of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

Clinchers made light work of Sunset strikers by 201 runs.

Okeiph Andrews with 94, Donwell Hector 62, Jason Nero 36, and Carlon John 34 all combined to see Clinchers to 276 for 5 off 20 overs.

Sunset Strikers in reply was dismissed for 66. Larry Farrell was the topscorer with 26. Okeiph Andrews completed a good all-round performance with 3 for 19 and Kevin Harry took 2 for 12.

Also making it through to the next round of the elimination phase was CGM Novice.

Rohan Dowers scored 33; Chris King made 28 not out, and Trevor Bailey 22, as Novice reached 164 for 5, from their 20 overs.

Bowling for Everything Concrete La Croix, Esmond Haywood took 3 for 19.

La Croix was dismissed for 72, as Andre Hunte picked up 4 for 5, to see Novice to a comfortable 92-run triumph.

Bank of SVG made it thorough as they led Mc Little Saints by 19 runs.

Bank of SVG posted 130 for 4 from 15 overs. Kelly Murray made 34 not out, Asquith Mapp scored 32 and Neron Da Souza 24. Bowling for Little Saints, Maxford Walters took 2 for 18.

In response, Little Saints made 111. Maxford Walters was the topscorer with 29, as Neron Da Souza snared 3 for 20, and there were two wickets each for Errol Pope, Newborn Joseph and Eddy Peters.

ASCO humbled Shot Callers by two wickets.

Shot Callers batted first and posted 99, with Raphique Williams making 27. Rajiv Roberts, Bernard Bushay, Nicholas Holder and Damian Chance, all took two wickets apiece.

Rajiv Roberts then struck 29, to lead ASCO to 101 for 8. Dean Burgin and Osmond Forbes, both took two wickets each.

Another set of matches is set for this weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field. (RT)
