Ambris co-stars in West Indies Under-19 win

Vincentian Sunil Ambris scored 67 on his debut for the West Indies Under-19 team, in their first match of the regional side’s tour of the USA, against their US counterparts, last Saturday at the Broward County Cricket Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.{{more}}

Ambris, who was the first and only Vincentian to represent the West Indies at the Under-15 level, curtailed his participation in the current Windward Islands Under-19 competition, and shared in a third wicket partnership of 108 with his Captain and Test player Kraigg Braithwaite. The Barbadian opener scored 121 not out, as West Indies piled up 278 for 8 from their 50 overs.

In reply, the USA Under-19’s were skittled out for 62. Fast bowler Kyle Mayers finished with 5 for 17 from 6 overs and spinner Donovan Nelson took 2 for 4 from three overs, as the West Indies romped to a comfortable 116 run triumph.

All four matches for the West Indies tour will be against the USA Under-19’s.

The full West Indies team reads Kraigg Brathwaite (Captain), Sunil Ambris, Ronsford Beaton, John Campbell, Derone Davis, Justin Greaves, Kaveem Hodge, Jerome Jones, Kieron Joseph, Steven Katwaroo, Amir Khan, Kyle Mayers, Donovan Nelson and Ramon Senior.

The team management includes Roddy Estwick, as Head Coach; Courtney Walsh, the Team Manager; Stuart Williams- Assistant Coach, Courtney Browne – selector; Ronald Rogers – Fitness Trainer and Janel Springer, the Physiotherapist.
