It was the second time in the four year old competition they emerged victorious, but the first time on their own.

In 2008, the Aussies shared the title with Admiralty Youth Combined after the finals finished in a tie.

Playing in their third consecutive finals, Aussies batted first.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ opening batsman, Salvan Browne, struck 13 fours and 3 sixes in a knock of 98 not out as Aussies posted 190 for 9 from their 20 overs. Nathaniel Williams picked up 3 for 17 and Zane Edwards, 2 for 42, bowling for West Side Knockers, who in reply were dismissed for 151 from 18 overs.

Shirlon Pompey and Dwight Phillips scored 41 and 38, respectively, but in a losing effort.

Shem Browne was the mastermind with the ball as he bagged 6 for 10, Verden Baptiste, 2 for 16, and Ryan Cozier chipped in with 2 for 32.

In the third place play off, dethroned champions Admiralty Transport Combined Youths beat De Graduates by six wickets.

D’ Graduates scored 130. Nicholi Bynoe hit a topscore of 37. Javon Patrick, 2 for 16, and Chelson Stowe, 2 for 28, were Youth Combined’s most successful bowlers.

Youth Combined reached 135 for 6. Jason Ollivierre, 54 not out, and John Miller, 42. The date for the formal presentation ceremony has not been announced. (RT)
