TSSS, CPSS top Inter Schools Athletics Meet
Thomas Saunders Secondary (TSS) and the Campden Park Secondary (CPSS) Schools emerged Male and Female champions respectively, when the 2010 Inter Secondary Schools Track and Field Meet, was staged last Thursday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.{{more}}
It was real joy for the TSS, which for the first time had a full complement of athletes, as the school has only been in existence for just about four and a half years.
Thomas Saunders totalled 265 points, to leave perennial champions, the St. Vincent Grammar School into second place, with 261 points.
They left the Campden Park Secondary in a distant third spot, with an accumulated 164 points.
In the Female segment, the Campden Park Secondary was the winner with 193 points, beating another former winner, the Girlsâ High School, which finished the event with 186 points.
Docking in third was the St. Josephâs Convent Kingstown on 180 points.
Taking the Junior Division Female title was the promising Lenesha Olliver of the CPSS. Olliverâs individual points were 31, and she also claimed the Victrix Ludurom award.
Shantal Rouse, also of the CPSS, took the Female Intermediate title, after she amassed 30 individual points. The Senior Female champion was Naomi Williams of the Central Leeward Secondary, formerly the Barrouallie Secondary. Williams accumulated 23 points.
The St. Vincent Grammar Schoolâs Lennox Spence with 40 points was both the Junior Male winner and the Victor Lodorum.
Renaldo Charles of the TSS was the Intermediate Male champion as he had 34 points to his name. And, rounding off the individual divisional awards was Yurnic Nanton of the Petit Bordel Secondary. Nanton claimed the Senior Male title with his 27 points. (RT)
