Junior Tennis players climax their 2009 season

Several Junior Tennis players enhanced their reputation and the rankings on the local circuit at the conclusion of the Metrocint Insurance/C K Greaves and Company Christmas Tennis Tournament which ended Saturday, December 19, at the National Tennis Centre at Villa.{{more}}

J Rai Joyette-Da Silva and Kentasha Bullock emerged with two titles each to their names.

Joyette-Da Silva took the Boys Under-14 Singles and with Kyle Hall walked away with the Boys Under-14 Doubles.

Bullock, similarly, won the Girls Under -14 Singles and combined with Paige Veira to triumph in doubles.

This was not all for Bullock, as she claimed the Challenge Trophy, awarded for Tennis performance and attitude, among other attributes.

Joyette-DaSilva also received the award for the Most Improved Under-18 player.

Kristel Tash copped the Girls Under-10 title. Alex Cyrus won the boys category of that age group, with Chelsea Haslam claiming the Girls Under-12 title and Imani King emerging the boys’ champion, in that age grouping.

Halima Michael won the Girls Under-16, while the Boys Under-16 went to Fabrice George. Daneya Charles, after failing in the Under-16, made better her sojourn in the Under-18 Singles Final.

Shane Huggins inked his name on the Boys Under-18 Singles final.

Michelle Gun Munro and Danielle Cupid seized the Girls Under-18 Doubles, with Shane Latchman and Dujoh Ollivierre, the pair that copped the Boys Under -18 Doubles.

Julio Francis was adjudged the Most Improved Under-14, and Denea Lyttle, the Most Improved Under-12 player.

The Metrocint/ C K Greaves sponsored tournament, in which there were 84 participants, was the last official competition on the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association’s calendar for 2009.(RT)
