X-Ceed makes financial gesture

The X-Ceed Sports Club has for the second year come to the assistance of its members by helping to defray the cost of subjects at their CSEC examinations. This year the club has donated $1,000 to five of its members.{{more}}

The five students received $200 each.

At a small presentation ceremony held at the  Kingstown Netball Centre recently, president Godfrey “Fuzzy” Harry encouraged the students to aim for excellence and always to keep the club’s motto in their hearts — Developing winning ways through sports.

The funds were another way of giving back from X-Ceed’s second placing in the Helen of the West Netball Festival in St. Lucia last month.

The five students who benefitted from the club’s gesture this year are: Danielle Lavia — St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown, Daria Gordon — Dr. J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary, Shanice Daniel and Shanka Hamlette — Campden Park Secondary and Nakeita Ollivierre — Bequia Community High School.

The students’ parents and guardians witnessed the ceremony and expressed gratitude to the club for its gesture.
