Imperial reaches BCL Final

Vincentian outfit Imperial has reached the final of the Brooklyn Cricket League regular season.{{more}}

Last Sunday, they met Travel Treat in the semi Final at Marine Park C. Travel Treat batted first and scored 189. Bowling for Imperial, Orient Bostic 3 for 29, Devane Warner, 2 for 35, and former SVG middle order batsman Clarence Wyllie, 2 for 35. Imperial cruised to 193 for 2.

Former Grenada, Windward Islands and West Indies Under-19 batsman Kester Sylvester scored 69. Shaun Sargeant, 57, Bostic, 31 not out, and Jason Williams, 26 not out, as Imperial won by eight wickets, and will meet Punjab in the final.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windward Islands batsman Donwell Hector continued his fine form in the Knock Out Phase of the Brooklyn Cricket League last Labour Day weekend.

On Saturday, he knocked 83 not out to topscore for Middlesex as they replied with 194 for 3, to Brooklyn Knights’ 193.

Casper Davis, 49 not out, and Jacob Emmanuel, 22, saw Middlesex winning the match by seven wickets. When Brooklyn Knights batted, Casper Davis, 4 for 33, his son Andre Davis, 2 for 20, and left arm spinner Lester Benn, 2 for 33.

In other matches involving Vincentians team Cavalier, Grenada batted first and scored 219 for 7, with Gregory Anthony, 42, Lester Douglas, 37 not out, and Daniel Alexander, 36.

Bowling for Cavalier, Orlando Mofford, 3 for 47. Cavaliers went under as they were 131 all out. Albert Tesheira, 28, and Mofford, 24. Bowling for Grenada, Kelly Payne, 3 for 4, Douglas, 2 for 8, and Daniel Alexander, 2 for 40. (RT)
