Gellizeau is top driver

Dexter Gellizeau, driving his Dekie’s Auto Zone sponsored Evolution Six, coupled with skills and a powerful machine, proved to be the top combination, when the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Automobile Association, last Saturday, staged its C.O. The new track consumes much of the land space earmarked for the National Stadium Project, which has been put on hold. The track is outfit with a flyover as well as an under pass. It is also designed with two tracks accommodating head to head racing of two vehicles.

At that end of last Saturday’s competition, Gellizeau returned the fastest time on the 1.1 mile course of one minute, 41 seconds, 26 seconds. He was the overall winner.

Veteran driver Tony Abbott was second.

Gellizeau was also the winner of the four wheel drive category, clocking 1 minute 43.78 seconds, ahead of Keith Francis’ 1 minute 43.90 seconds.

Trailing them were Ian Trotman and Jerome Ryan. Trotman’s time was 1 minute 46.67 seconds, and Ryan clocked 1 minute 50.28 seconds.

In all, twelve cars were part of the day’s races on new surface. The other categories of racing were two wheel full weight drive, and the two four wheel with drive with mechanical control differentials. (RT)
