Stars shine in the North

North Stars and Peto Stars shone brightly last weekend in the Vinlec North Leeward 20/20 cricket competition.{{more}}

North Stars defeated Ball Beaters by 43 runs. North Stars scored 173 for 9 in their 20 overs. Elron Lewis was their bright spark with 53. Omarie Jones flickered on to light the Petit Bordel Playing Field with 35. Ball Beaters responded with 130 all out, dismissed in 14.1 overs. Kadeame Pierre had his innings dimmed at 29, as Nicholas Delpesche 4 for 23, Nicholas Alexander 3 for 35 and Donald Delpesche 2 for 22, gave rays of hope to North Stars.

Making it two in a trot, North Stars pipped Ajuba by four wickets. Ajuba hit 154 for 8 in their 20 overs. Harley Skerritt 39; Orlando Millington 29. North Stars shot to 158 for 6 off 17.1 overs. Lewis followed up his previous batting performance with 41 and Ronjel Small 35.

Peto Stars were similarly convincing against Rangers. Led by Sheldon Hooper’s 54 and Rohan Laborde’s 34, Peto made 194 for 9 off their allotted 20 overs. Peter Morris 4 for 45, Ortis Porter 2 for 22 and Osmand Shallow 2 for 44, were Rangers top bowlers.

At their turn, Rangers could not handle the bowling of Orland Hooper 3 for 33 and Kent Lewis 2 for 17, and were bowled out for 87. Otis Porter topscored with 31.

The other scheduled match on the weekend between Ajuba and Somerset was rained out. Another four matches are set for this weekend.
