FIFA probes Jack’s World Cup dealings

Officials of soccer’s governing body, FIFA, are set to meet today Friday September 15 in Zurich to discuss an audit that claims vice-president Jack Warner of Trinidad and Tobago was caught up in the sale of thousands of World Cup tickets on the black market.{{more}}

The meeting comes on the heels of a recent report in the Daily Mail that cited confidential reports by auditors Ernst and Young that were produced for FIFA. The Mail claimed that Warner made at least $933,000 trading in tickets to the prestigious event.

“One report estimated he and son Daryan cleared a profit of at least £500,000 on 5,400 tickets for England, Mexico and Japan matches,” the article stated, while also accusing FIFA of taking no action and sitting on the report much unlike the action meted out to executive committee member Ismail Bhamjee in June, when he was caught selling black market tickets.
