Smith back for Windwards

The Windward Islands are hoping for better fortunes when they face Barbados this weekend in Grenada, in their second match of the Carib Beer Cricket Series.

The competition took a break for the Christmas holidays.

The Windwards announced a thirteen member team earlier this week to face the Bajans. The home team showed one change from their previous outing. Vice-Captain Devon Smith replaces fellow Grenadian Andre Fletcher who has been called up for the West Indies Under-19 to tour South Africa for the Youth World Cup. Smith missed the first match as he was on duty with the senior West Indies squad in Australia.

Rawl Lewis remains as Captain. The others include Junior Murray, Craig Emmanuel, Alvin La Feuille, Hyron Shallow, Rommel Currency, Shane Shillingford, Sean Paul, Kenroy Peters, Deighton Butler, Darren Sammy and Sergio Feddee.

West Indies fast bowler Tino Best and hard-hitting batsman Dwayne Smith have been added to the Barbados’ team.

The other fixture sees Trinidad and Tobago meeting Jamaica at home. Trinidad and Tobago have been bolstered by the inclusion of Dwayne Bravo and West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Ramdin. Jamaica on the other hand, see the return of Wavell Hinds, Marlon Samuels, and Jermaine Lawson, all who were on duty in Australia.
