All except Kelly have represented the West Indies before. The other six were either part of the A team or the second string senior squad that toured Sri Lanka earlier this year.

The seven hopefuls, along with manager Zorol Barthley, left the regionlast Tuesday for Hong Kong, in search of the winner’s purse of US$100 000.

The West Indies has been drawn in Pool 2 along with Pakistan, India and South Africa. Pool 1 includes defending champion England, Australia, Sri Lanka and host Hong Kong.

The format of the tournament sees five players bowling an over each. Completing the team is the wicketkeeper.

The West Indies lone triumph in the Hong Kong Sixes was in 1996.
