St. Vincent and Grenadines’ running sensation Kineke Alexander broke this country’s national 400-metres record on the first day of the Mt SAC relays being held at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium-Walnut, California last Friday.{{more}}

Alexander, who turned 19 on February 21, finished the one lap event with the fastest time of the day of 52.73. The University of Iowa freshman now has the 15th fastest time in the world an event being lead by Jamaica’s Novlene Williams (51.64). Kelsey Toussiant of Trinidad and Tobago now representing Southern Illinois won heat two in 55.06 and finished fifth overall.

Alexander, the under-20 Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships 400-meters champion was also an all-American during the 2005 NCAA Indoor Championships – finishing sixth in 54.06.
