A fifth former at St. Martins Secondary in capital City Kingstown, Providence aged 18, won the 400 and 800 metres. He was second in the 200 metres, and third in the Long Jump.

A genuine team player, Providence was prominent for his school in several team events including the 400×4 relay.

Despite his outstanding performance, or perhaps owing to his athletic display, St. martins placed second in the overall category.

Providence has been blazing the track over some time. He first came to attention at the Caribbean Union of Teachers Games, and went on to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Junior Central American and Caribbean Games, and also at the Windward Islands games.

Keith Joseph has been Providence’s coach.

Providence has his eyes on securing an athletic Scholarship.
