Ballantyne, who took over as king of the Trinidadian roads after four-time winner Michael Alexander who dominated the event up until the earlier 90’s, is hoping to keep that title under his belt.

He sounded an early warning to competitors when he breezed to victory in the TTUTA 10k last weekend in a time of 31 minutes and 28 seconds, finishing a good distance of two minutes ahead of Trinidadian runner Curtis Cox.

Much is expected of the Caribbean road running champ in this year’s event, he will be looking to take this marathon for the eight time since his introduction to the event in 1997.
