Independence Day Hairoun Zonal Cricket final

The Hairoun Zonal Independence Cricket final comes off Independence Day October 27. The match is carded for Arnos Vale Playing Field after the 25th Independence anniversary parade.

Battle for spots in that showdown continue tomorrow Saturday 23 with the quarterfinal fixture between Central Windward and Marriaqua. The winner plays a semifinal encounter with South Central Leeward at Arnos Vale One Sunday 24.{{more}}

That same day, North Leeward and South Windward vie for the other semifinal berth at Stubbs.

North Leeward advanced with a four-wicket win over Kingstown last Sunday. This was at Buccament, after the third effort to complete the match.

Kingstown was dismissed for 93 off 23.5 overs. North Leeward replied with 98 for 6 off 20.1 overs.

Augustine Victory 41, was the mainstay for Kingstown whose innings was undermined by Angus Cyrus 3 for 9 and Hank Hall 3 for 24.

It was not plain sailing for the North Leeward. A 41 run fourth wicket stand between Orville Franklyn 25 not out and Alex Bowens 23 brought things on course. They came together at 7 for 3. Bowens departed at 48, but Franklyn maintained a resolute approach.

Dodridge Small 3 for 13 was the pick of the Kingstown bowlers.
