Vinlec North Leeward heading for finals

Who will be the Vinlec North Leeward’s Senior cricket champion? The countdown is narrowing, and in one more week the finalists will be decided.
D’Affaires and Somerset, two teams from the village of Fitz Hughes, will battle for one spot this Sunday, and the other semi-finalist, Peto Stars, will watch the encounter between Ajuba One and Enforcers to know who their opponent will be. This will be the action this Sunday as the tournament heads for a climax. {{more}}
D’Affaires secured their semifinal berth with an emphatic win over Troumaca United last Sunday at Richmond. Troumaca seemed to be going through the motions and suffered a 108 defeat.
Alex Bowens, with 102, powered D’Affaires to 205 for 4 in 29 overs when time ran out owing to interruptions by rain.
Ian John, with 35 not out, and Christopher Trumpet, 25 unbeaten, were also in the act. Christopher St. Hill, 3 for 46, was the most successful bowler for Troumaca.
They folded for 97 in 23 overs. Early inroads by Fitzmore Edwards, 3 for 32, and Vaughn Browne, 2 for 22, ensured victory for D’Affaires. Two batsmen suffered by the run-out route.
The other quarterfinal match between Enforcers and Ajuba One will be played this Sunday at Troumaca Bay. That game was abandoned last Sunday because of a waterlogged outfield.
The final is carded for next two weeks.
