Somerset and Peto Stars through to semis

Orlando Charles, with his 38 not out, piloted Somerset to a nine wicket win over Smokey in the quarterfinal of the Vinlec North Leeward Senior Cricket tournament last Sunday.
Somerset knocked up 88 for 1 off 13 overs, in reply to Smokey’s 87 all out off 22 overs, in a match played at Richmond Playing Field. {{more}}
Nelson Williams, 4 for 19, and Kenneth Lewis, 4 for 18, combined to rout Smokey.
At Troumaca Bay, Peto Stars with 205 all out off 28 overs created an upset. The Zone 2 fourth place team Peto Stars beat Ajuba 2, Zone 1 winners of the preliminary by 67 runs.
Javid Edwards, 44, Sheldon Hooper, 38, Raymond Matthews, 22 and Rohan LaBorde, 20, contributed to the Peto Stars total.
Ajuba 2 replied with 138 all out off 25 overs.
Kimal Williams, 45, and Orlando Millington, 34, tried but were unable to close in on the Peto Stars total.
Orlando Hooper, 5 for 23, put in an excellent bowling performance to propel Peto Stars to their victory.
Sunday’s matches see D’Affairs versus Troumaca United at Richmond, and at Troumaca Bay Enforcers and Ajuba 1 vie for the other semifinal spot.
Both games are scheduled to
commence at 10 a.m.
