Modern Port Operating Company donates milk to Ministry of The Family
THE MODERN PORT Operating Company (MPOC) yesterday, January 12, 2026 made a donation of milk to the Ministry of the Family and Gender Affairs, Persons with Disabilities, Occupational Safety and Labour.
The donation was officially presented by Chief Executive Officer of MPOC, Carl James, and accepted on behalf of the Ministry by the Minister of Family and Gender etc, Laverne Gibson-Velox.
In brief remarks, James said the donation was made on behalf of the management, board, and staff of the Modern Port Operating Company as a contribution to the important work carried out by the ministry.
He said the milk would be beneficial to families served by the ministry and expressed pleasure in being able to offer support.
Minister Gibson-Velox expressed sincere appreciation to MPOC for the timely donation, noting that the ministry serves some of the most vulnerable groups across St.Vincent and the Grenadines, including families and school children.
The minister explained that with schools having recently reopened, the milk will be distributed to schools within the coming days, and incorporated into school feeding programmes to add to the nutritional value of meals provided to students.
She also thanked the Modern Port Operating Company for the generous gesture and expressed hope that the ministry would continue to be considered for similar support in the future. (API)
