Lobster and Lambie Festival for Grenada this weekend
THIS WEEKEND, international and regional tourists, as well as hundreds of Grenadians and several media outlets, are expected to descend on the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique for the first ever Lobster and Lambie Festival.
The inaugural festival will be held between January 16 to 18, 2026 in Carriacou and Petite Martinique with the aim of positioning the two islands that comprise the Grenada Grenadines as premier seafood destinations in the Caribbean.
According to Pure Grenada, the official tourism account of the Grenada Tourism Authority, among the objectives of the Lobster and Lambie Festival are promoting Carriacou as a culinary haven within the Caribbean, with emphasis on its fishing and seafood heritage, highlighting the Sister Isle’s unique identity, community spirit, and lifestyle beyond Grenada’s mainland and driving interest in travel to Carriacou through immersive, visual storytelling.
It is being noted that Grenada and its islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique are renowned for their pristine waters, vibrant fishing traditions, and rich culinary heritage.
“Seafood forms an integral part of the cultural identity, livelihood, and cuisine of these islands. Building on this heritage, the Lobster & Lambie Festival is designed to be the draw, but this festival encompasses everything seafood that the island has to offer,” said the organisers.
It is also noted that the festival aims to drive tourism growth and visitor arrivals during a strategic time in the calendar while also targetting markets including locals, visitors on mainland Grenada and visitors travelling through the Grenadines.
The opening of the festival will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Windward Fish Market in Carriacou and this will feature cultural performances. On the second and third days the festival will feature live band and performances. The entire festival is billed to be a showcase of the best of Grenada’s seafood culture.
