The St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Save the Children Fund (VINSAVE) has received an appreciation award from the Skills for Youth Employment in the Caribbean (SKYE) programme.
A release from VINSAVE states that the award is “for the delivery of inclusive demand driven certificated training in Early Childhood Education to improve the prospects of disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities in the labour market”.
Twenty persons drawn from various Child Development Centres in SVG, benefited from the training in Early Childhood Education during the period 2021-2022.
The programme was offered on-line for the first time and students were also required to complete a three month internship as part the fulfilment of the course. The release states that all students are now gainfully employed in the Early Childhood sector.
