Barrouallie residents invited to volcano Town Hall meeting

The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) is convening a Town Hall meeting today, April 18, in commemoration of the second anniversary of the 2021 eruption of La Soufriere Volcano.

And, it has extended an invitation to residents of Barrouallie and surrounding communities to be part of this interactive session. The meeting which takes place at the Barrouallie Learning Resource Centre from 5.30 p.m. has a two fold purpose.

It is intended to update residents on the present status of La Soufriere Volcano, and will provide a forum to share experiences and lessons learnt from the 2021 explosive eruptions of the volcano.

The feature speaker will be Dr. Thomas Christopher, Volcanologist attached to the Seismic Research Centre who is based at the Montserrat Volcano Observatory.
The forum is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Agency for Public Information.
