Vincentian gospel singer releases debut album ‘Breakthrough’
Clairon Haynes has officially released her debut gospel album “Breakthrough” which comprises 11 original songs she said she wrote and sang with the Holy Spirit her inspiration.
In a release, Haynes, who was born and raised in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), said five music producers from SVG, Dominica, and Montreal, Canada worked extremely hard to bring the vision of this album to fruition.
“Breakthrough” is the title track of the album which chronicles the struggles which Clairon has faced between the period 2011-2014 while she battled depression for three years in Canada.
“This body of work is an accomplishment that Clairon is extremely proud of, considering she had no musical experience except for her songwriting prior to undertaking this feat. In fact before 2014 she has never sang publicly in churches. Singing was the last gift she thought she would ever possess,” a release from the producers said.
“Well, Jehovah God had proven her wrong. She believes that BREAKTHROUGH is a masterpiece chronicling her life and struggles and her dependence on Jehovah God to secure her triumph and victories. “
The song also represents Clairon’s breakthrough from that, runs her victory lap, crediting Jehovah God for having chattered her chains of depression and for setting her free.
According to the singer, it was after she decided to turn her life around 360 degrees to Jehovah after her healing journey began in 2014 that she received the commission from Him to record the songs which she had written in 2009-2010. She credits the Holy Spirit for tapping into her gift of poetry writing to pen these songs.
“Breakthrough” was produced by Jason Kellener of Montreal. The final track “God Got This” was produced by Italian Steve Galante of Montreal. It is a ballad which builds faith and instils hope.
In March 2021, the physical copy of ‘Breakthrough’ was released and received support from fans who anticipated it.
On August 11, 2022, in celebration of the 20th anniversary since Clairon migrated from SVG to Canada, she officially released the album digitally and it is now available for purchase in over 100 countries in singles or the entire album from any online store that sells music downloads (iTunes, Amazon.con, Spotify , etc.).
