The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is today, Friday November 5, 2021,hosting an on-campus vaccination at its Villa campus, from 9:00a.m – 3:00pm.

A release from the college said Director Nigel Scott, commenting on the drive said “We recognise the global challenges presented by COVID-19 and neither St. Vincent and the Grenadines, nor the Community College, is exempt from these challenges. We therefore deem it important to host this activity, as we have a societal and institutional responsibility to actively combat the spread of COVID-19.

He added: “Scientific evidence shows that vaccines work, and as an institution deeply supportive of science-based knowledge, as evidenced by our expanding Science department, we are offering our support by hosting this vaccination drive”.

The college said its vaccination event is open to the public.

The SVGCC’s preventative measures already include: mandatory wearing of masks on campus, installation of sanitisation stations across all divisions, employment of full-time nurses to facilitate temperature checks upon arrival, encouraging social distancing, and incorporating a virtual then blended instructional approach at on its campuses.

The college has also reminded that the vaccination drive is entirely voluntary.
